Contract Signing Ceremony between CSC-Bangladesh Army and DORP


A contract has been signed between CSC-Bangladesh Army and Non-government organization Development Organisation of the Rural Poor (DORP) for Implementation of Resettlement Plan for the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project (PBRLP) from Dhaka to Jessore via Bhanga, Phase-1. The project included land acquisition and lead to support project affected people to restore their housing, Resettlement and Income Livelihood Restoration Program activities.

A contract has been signed between CSC-Bangladesh Army and Non-government organization Development Organisation of the Rural Poor (DORP) for Implementation of Resettlement Plan for the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project (PBRLP) from Dhaka to Jessore via Bhanga, Phase-1. The project included land acquisition and lead to support project affected people to restore their housing, Resettlement and Income Livelihood Restoration Program activities.

On phase-1 (Dhaka to Bhanga) there are 3,548 entitled households are affected by the adverse impact of the project. Total length of the strip is 82.35 Km where total 358.41 hectare land will come under acquisition.

Major General Abu Sayed Md. Masud, Brigadier General Md. Abdul Mukim Sarker, Brigadier General Abul Kasem Md. Fozlul Kader, Brigadier General Abul Kalam Azad and other high level Army officers were present in this contract signining ceremony. Azher Ali Talukder, Chairman– DORP, & Additional Secretary (Rtd.), Sultan Mahmud, Director of DORP, Md. Hayder Ali Khan, Director Finance & Administration, Md. Jobayer Hassan, Director Research and Evaluation, Aftabul Alam, The Team Leader of this project attended in this ceremony.

After competition this project socioeconomic condition of the Southern people of Bangladesh will be much better if rail communicating be established on the Padma Bridge.
